The Eldorado National Forest Interpretive Association (ENFIA) is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping the Eldorado National Forest serve the public. This we do by helping to tell visitors about the history, the natural history, and the many special features of the Forest. In addition, we seek out and make available to the public forest-oriented books and other merchandise that cannot be found elsewhere locally. We also operate a seasonal Forest Service Information Station at Carson Pass.
Sometimes what we do is work and sometimes it is fun. Actually, for many of us the "work" we voluntarily do is more like fun for we enjoy what we do. And, when we do them, we end up helping the Forest serve the public. In addition, we provide fun or otherwise interesting experiences for our members that they could not obtain elsewhere.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
CARSON PASS DOCENT ORIENTATION MEETING
The annual orientation for Carson Pass Docents will be held this year on April 26, 2008, at the Forest Service Office located at 100 Forni Road in Placerville (the "FSO"). For new docents, the starting time is 8:00 a.m. while for returning docents the starting time is 10:00 a.m. It will end by 3:30 p.m. Please bring your manual with you. A morning snack will be provided, but bring a lunch (drinks will also be provided).
If there is(are) one or more specific date you wish to sign up for staffing the Carson Pass cabin, contact Ginny ASAP. Otherwise, please wait until the orientation to sign up for staffing days.
If you know of someone who is interested in joining us at Carson Pass, please let Ginny know.
Please contact Ginny to let her know if you will or will not be attending the orientation.

CAMPING IN THE CARSON PASS AREA

Camping in the Carson Pass Management Area of the Mokelumne Wilderness is restricted. See the Carson Pass Camping page for further information on camping in the Carson Pass Management Area.
